Valentine's Day is a time when cards, candy and gifts are bought and exchanged and just about every restaurant is booked solid. Some may write it off as a "Hallmark holiday" while others give ridiculous or expensive gifts.
Me? I see the holiday as just another day to show my sweetie that I love him. By feeding him. I do it for me too. It has become somewhat of a tradition for me to create a three-course, themed meal based off of a red fruit. One year I picked strawberries, another year, raspberries, then watermelon, apples... well, you get the picture.
This featured meal from Valentine's Day, 2014 was cherry themed!
SALAD - SWEET & SPICY CHERRY CUCUMBER SALAD
MAIN COURSE - ROASTED DUCK WITH A CHERRY BOURBON GLAZE SERVED WITH A SIDE OF ASPARAGUS
DESSERT - CHERRY CHEESECAKE BARS TOPPED WITH CHERRY SAUCE & FRESH WHIPPED CREAM
No matter what the occasion, I always love to cook and enjoy food with loved ones. The feeling I get when someone enjoys my cooking is indescribable and brings me so much joy.
